Highway Pier Project in Romania
The site required breaking cast-in-place piles with a diameter of 1300-1500mm. The client used a 35-ton hydraulic excavator as the power source. Referring to our module matching table, we recommended a 12-module combination with a total weight of 3960kg, suitable for pile diameters of 1300-1500mm. This unit delivers a maximum thrust of 300KN. Each module is fitted with crushing teeth of 110mm diameter. The hydraulic system requires a minimum flow rate of 20L/min and a working pressure up to 300MPa. The device is driven directly by the excavator’s original hydraulic lines. Position pins (Φ35) are installed to keep all modules well aligned. On-site, the 12 modules are arranged in a circle. Hydraulic cylinders drive all crushing teeth to squeeze the pile head inward simultaneously. It only takes 3 to 5 minutes to break one large-diameter pile. The working efficiency is much higher than that of manual jackhammers, and the broken pile surface is flat with no secondary trimming needed.
Wharf Expansion Project in Indonesia
This project involved a large number of medium-sized foundation piles with diameters of 600-800mm. Only a 25-ton excavator was available on site. Besides, the ground turned soft in rainy seasons, so the overall equipment weight was strictly limited. We selected a 4-module combination with a total weight of 1600kg. It is originally designed for 400-600mm piles, and can be adjusted to work for piles up to 800mm. Each module weighs just 335kg with dimensions of 1015×865×340mm, easy for manual moving and quick assembly. The client’s excavator only provides a maximum hydraulic flow of 15L/min, lower than the standard 20L/min. For this reason, we supplied an independent hydraulic power unit that meets 20L/min flow and 300MPa pressure. It is connected to the hydraulic pile breaker via long hoses. The equipment runs free from the excavator’s hydraulic limits, while the excavator is only used for lifting and positioning. This solution works perfectly on Indonesia’s soft ground. The 4-module set weighs merely 1.6 tons for easy lifting. A max lifting height limit (≤500mm) is equipped to guarantee operational safety.
Similarities & Differences Between the Two Projects
Both projects adopt a flexible modular design. Later in Romania, a small number of piles with diameters of 1650-1800mm appeared. The client simply added 2 modules to upgrade into a 14-module combination with a total weight of 4620kg, with no need to replace the whole machine. For continuous pile construction on some small 400mm piles in Indonesia, the 4-module set was temporarily reduced to 3 modules. The equipment features excellent flexibility.

- Removing the pile: After the hydraulic pile crusher separates the pile, the pile breaker typically uses a gripping jaw to grasp the pile and then removes it to the target location.

Operation Procedure of Concrete Pile Breaker
- We need the line to determine the location and number of piles and clear the surrounding obstacles.
- Then the operator will move the excavator to the location of the concrete pile.
- The operator needs to use the bucket of the excavator to remove the soil or surrounding material.
- then securely attach the pile breaker to the boom of the excavator.
- Align the breaking part of the pile driver with the pile and start operation.
- Keep operating the pile driver until the piles are broken.
- After breaking the piles, use the bucket of the excavator to remove the remaining piles and materials.
