A mobile spider crane is a small lifting machine with a spider-like shape and rubber track travel. It is specially designed for narrow, low, or crowded areas where large cranes cannot access, such as pedestrian streets, roadside shops, and indoor maintenance work. The YG tracked mini crane has been successfully exported to many countries. Let’s take a look at its actual operation in Bulgaria.

Case 1: Sign Replacement Project for Roadside Shops in Burgas
Project Background
On a commercial street in downtown Burgas, Bulgaria, multiple stores planned to renovate their exterior signs uniformly. One café’s old sign was installed 3.5 meters above the ground, and the new steel-framed sign weighed about 150 kilograms in total. The sidewalk in front of the store was only 1.8 meters wide, right next to a bike lane, with heavy pedestrian flow during the day.
Construction Challenges
The construction team needed to remove the old sign and install the new one within half a day, without closing the sidewalk or disturbing business of adjacent stores. Setting up scaffolding was a traditional solution, yet it would block the entire passage. A small truck crane was also unworkable, as the street entrance had a height limit of 2.2 meters.
YG Solution
To solve the client’s problems, YG recommended the Model YG-3 mobile spider crane. The machine is merely 0.8 meters wide, so it can move easily on the 1.8-meter-wide sidewalk. Its outriggers are manually extended and then hydraulically supported automatically, with a maximum longitudinal outreach of 3.9 meters, rear lateral outreach of 3.8 meters and front lateral outreach of 3.3 meters, keeping the machine fully stable. The 5-section telescopic boom offers a maximum lifting height of 9.9 meters, which easily covers the 3.5-meter-high sign position. Equipped with hybrid diesel-electric power, it runs in electric mode on the sidewalk with zero exhaust and low noise, causing no disturbance to customers sitting outdoors at the café. Operators can stand safely across the road and control the machine via wireless remote control, avoiding staying under the lifted load.
Project Process
The store owner learned about YG through a local renovation contractor, who had watched operation videos of the mini spider crane on social media before. After contacting YG, the owner worried that the machine’s rubber tracks would crack the tiled sidewalk. YG’s sales team first sent the ground pressure test report: the actual ground pressure is only 0.35kg/cm², far lower than the sidewalk’s designed load of 1.2kg/cm². We also shared real-site photos of the mini crane working in old town areas in Poland.
The client still had concerns about concentrated pressure from the outriggers. We further explained that the construction crew would place high-strength plastic outrigger pads (30cm×30cm each) under every outrigger. These pads can cut the ground pressure by over 80% and completely prevent tile damage.
With all doubts cleared, the store owner ordered one YG-3 in mid-February 2025, together with an extra wireless remote control (for backup) and a work basket for workers to remove screws from the old sign. The equipment arrived in Burgas in 15 days via the China-Europe Railway Express, along with an operation manual in Bulgarian.
Operation Result
The whole sign replacement was finished in just 3 hours, and the sidewalk remained open throughout the work. The construction cost was only 40% of that of the scaffolding solution. Besides, the machine can be reused for future outdoor air conditioner installation.

Case 2: Indoor Equipment Installation at a Factory in Plovdiv
Project Background
A machinery manufacturing plant in Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second-largest city, needed to replace a 2.5-ton CNC machine tool. The factory gate is only 2.4 meters high, and the workshop is filled with dense columns and pipelines, making regular forklifts and cranes unable to enter.
Construction Challenges
The machine tool had to be carried into the workshop through a 1.8-meter-wide side gate, moved around three columns, and lifted onto a base 2 meters above the ground. The crew tried using chain hoists and rollers, but the work progressed slowly with high safety risks. The client urgently needed a tracked mini crane to complete the task.
YG Solution
After learning about the site conditions, YG engineers suggested the Model YG-5 mobile spider crane. The overall machine height is 2.2 meters, so it can pass through the 2.4-meter factory gate smoothly. Its outriggers adopt the same design: manual extension plus automatic hydraulic support, with a maximum longitudinal outreach of 6 meters and left/right lateral outreach of 5 meters, providing ample stable support inside the workshop. The 5-section pentagonal telescopic boom reaches a maximum lifting height of 16.8 meters, fully meeting the installation height requirement. Driven by hydraulic rubber tracks, the machine has a 36% climbing capacity (about 25 degrees) and can cross workshop thresholds effortlessly. A load moment indicator was optionally equipped to monitor load and working radius in real time and prevent overload for high-precision lifting.
Project Process
The client had contacted many local European suppliers earlier, who offered high quotations and a delivery lead time of three months. Later, the client saw recommendations for the YG mini spider crane on an industry forum and got in touch with us.
The key concern was whether the machine could rotate safely under a 2.5-ton load. YG’s technical team provided detailed mechanical calculation reports and promised remote guidance for the first operation. Finally, the client placed an order for one YG-5 in March 2025, plus extra attachments, including a hydraulic fly jib and a work basket. After delivery, YG technicians guided the first lifting operation via video call.
Operation Result
The YG-5 finished unloading, transporting, and precise positioning of the machine tool within one day, with zero collision and no safety incidents. The factory manager commented, “This tracked mini crane solved our emergency problem. It also gives us full confidence for all future indoor maintenance and renovation work.” The factory now plans to purchase another YG-8 for upcoming plant expansion.
